Welcome to the Council News for Spring, 2008. I would like to inform you of several activities that will be taking place over the next several months.
The Recreation Committee has some great events planned for our community. To kick off the spring season The Annual Egg Hunt will be held on March 15th with a rain date of March 22, 12pm sharp in Sanford Park. Children bring your baskets to collect eggs. Goody bags will be given out and there will also be basket raffles. The Memorial Day Parade will be held on Monday, May 26th at 2pm. The parade will commence at the Manalapan Township Veterans Memorial on Freehold Road (CR 522) and Taylor Mills Rd and will proceed down Tennent Avenue and then north on Main Street to the American Legion Post on Sanford Street. We will also have a Patriots Day Memorial Service on September 11th at Memorial Park located outside Borough Hall. Time to be announced.
Dog and cat licenses will expire on June 30, 2008 so please renew by then to avoid fines. The fee for dogs and cats is $10.00 for spayed/neutered pets and $13.00 for non-spayed/non-neutered pets. For your convenience we will also be holding a free rabies clinic on June 17, 2008 from 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. in the Public Works garage behind Borough Hall. You may also license your pet at this time.
The School Board Election will be held at Borough Hall on Tuesday April 15, 2008. Polls will be open from 3pm - 9 pm. The Primary Election will be held also at Borough Hall on Tuesday June 3, 2008. Polls will be open from 6am - 8pm. The last day to register to vote is 21 days prior to the election. If you need any information or registration forms, please contact the Clerk's Office at (732) 446-9235.
Please always keep in your thoughts and prayers all our soldiers that are in harms way.
Wishing all Englishtown families a wonderful spring season!
In closing, I would like to wish everyone a safe and Happy Halloween and Thanksgiving! I hope that you all will keep those soldiers, sailors, marines, and airmen who are presently in harms way in your prayers.
